Consignment sales are a great way to save money, recycle, get rid of things you don’t need, and maybe even earn a little cash! Babies are so expensive and they grow out of things so quickly. Why spend a boat load of money on things that you will only use for a few months? After going to my first consignment sale, I proclaimed, “I will never buy toys from the store again!” Ok, maybe I will occasionally buy things from the store, but for the most part, Beckett will be getting used toys, baby gear, and clothing. I thought maybe you guys would be interested in going to these sales and saving a little bit of money too, so I put together a list of some in the area!
Before we get to the list, there are a few important things to know, when going to these sales for the first time. If you can work it out so that you can go without your kiddos, DO IT. Consignment sales can be a bit overwhelming, especially the really big ones. It’s much easier to focus and see everything if you aren’t also feeding baby, changing baby, and making sure mobile kiddos aren’t
destroying getting into stuff.
If you can’t work it out to shop without your kiddo, my advice is to either wear baby in a baby carrier (like this one), or put him/her in a stroller. I prefer to wear Beckett so that I can use the stroller as a shopping cart. Now, I must warn you, IF you wear your baby and also push the stroller, you WILL accidentally rock the stroller as if your baby is in it. This is an unavoidable truth. Just thought I’d warn ya.
Also, bring a snack and a drink. There is A LOT of stuff. You’re gonna be there a while.
Last thing, before I get to the list of consignment sales. There is a Wake County Public Library Annual Book Sale THIS WEEKEND. I repeat, the book sale is THIS WEEKEND.
